I find @dhh to be such a likable person that I think I'm going to try Rails again soon... I had an unpleasant experience my first go-around, but in hindsight, that may have more to do with me bastardizing Rails to fit my prior patterns than the framework itself.

Has anyone encountered an issue with @tan_stack Router's automatic code splitting causing code in a route file to import from the entry point to your SPA (creating a circular reference)? I have this gnarly issue going on and am having a tough time getting to the bottom of it.

I think people don't realize that building something from scratch is the easiest part of a project. It's the long term maintenance spanning multiple teams, years, and business changes that's hard. When I see a complex design, the anxiety I have is around the latter.

Layoffs are a failure on the company's part to run their business well. Why do we just accept this as normal? If I ran a company and had to lay people off, I'd feel like a failure and rightfully so. Stop working for companies that do this garbage behavior regularly...

That's a great way of putting it. Every feature or dependency you add becomes another thing you have to maintain over the life of your product. Only build valuable features. You can't afford the liability of fluff.
