The machine minded only move on something once they can pin a metric to it, despite it being something every commoner in the road already knows and has been saying for years. The trading of spreadsheets for the blue sky is a symptom of disenchantment. It’s an evidence of broken vision and thus, missing courage. It’s the need to forestall action and offload risk by pointing to something removed and impotent. Charts and graphs cannot build a family, a company, or a nation. Neither will they rescue. The data devoted will continue to wander around waiting for their little blocks of wood to bless them. Love, meanwhile, has always known life is balanced on the edge, and happily gets to work shoring it up.
@plainrunner2 Needed to hear this reminder, brother. Thank you.
@plainrunner2 Our doom is to be gloriously human, not merely mechanical
