In dating relationships, is it better to guard yourself against fluctuations in affection or to assume the best in people with the possible outcome that they might one day blindside you by breaking up? I feel like I’m constantly bracing myself for the worst...and it’s exhausting.

P sure my sex life being put completely on hold(I don’t live w any partners/my SO)has made a lot of my issues flare up& become much worse. My depression is mitigated w social interaction, emotional intimacy with partners,& a good sex life. It sucks rn.We need to acknowledge that.
