It's impossible to align teams without shared behaviours. Most aligned teams are aligned by chance. Very few are aligned consciously. Be explicit about what you believe in, and you'll have better teams.

"Modules should be deep" - In @JohnOusterhout's book, smaller interfaces are better than wider ones, because they hide much more complexity. Stated another way: Abstractions should have small interfaces, not wide ones.

Principles are about exposing reality; they don’t go out of fashion. They accumulate and improve your behaviours. If you share you principles and your map of reality is wrong, you can be corrected - or reality might.
