What India should do: announce a $100bn manufacturing mega plan. Zero tax on manufacturing. One-stop clearance. Land on lease. Training sops. Institutional tie-ups. Funding match for jobs. Massive upgrade on power plants for cheap power. Build & scale manufacturing in the next 2-3 years - for both internal consumption and as a Chinese alternative. Start now.
$100bn is nothing for once in a generation opportunity.
@protosphinx Bhai babus will hang themselves before enabling citizens like this! 😅
@protosphinx China did something similar in mid 90s and early 2000s
We need to start now. If there's a way we do a Nation-wide campaign for this very thing. It would put a lot of global gaze on India and thus the trust + Domestic investment opportunities would increase. Manufacturing requires a closed knitted fulcrum architecture. Where the questions are answered as a collective wisdom. Let's build that?
@protosphinx you need to put down babus and politicians first. Did you see that japanese news report? They have openly said what we suspected all along on why industrial FDI in india has stagnated in last decade.
@protosphinx This vision is gold. But it’ll never take off unless we dismantle the unholy nexus of bureaucracy, corruption, and cronyism that chokes every ambitious idea in this country. $100bn won’t build factories if half of it vanishes into middlemen and red tape.
@protosphinx How are Babus supposed to make money in this model? They won't.
@protosphinx Impossible in a babunometric country.
@protosphinx Biggest issue is land I think. Must give unused govt assets on lease for 20 years at nominal prices, tied to investment and jobs. In fact, demolish civil lines in every city and force bureaucrats to live in flats. Use that area.
@protosphinx Meanwhile China had banned export of manufacturing machines.. Govt should get manufacturing machines and training setups and assist local businesses in running it.
@protosphinx Great if this happens but what about unlisted 'babu tax', they will find their way, no matter what.
@protosphinx This is need of hour, Raghuram Rajan sir also said, Let's stop Surprise Taxes and Red Tape around Manufacturing, Exports.
@protosphinx GST number to bina paise khilaaye milta nahi India mein and Electricity is the biggest commodity of manufacturing which is controlled and priced by Capitalists like Adani Nahi ho payega China se competition
@protosphinx This is all workable and wonderful within a functional system of limited bureaucracy and zero corruption. India doesn't have that, and shows no signs of making that a priority. Achieve THAT, and India will soar.
@protosphinx They would not do it. Modi government does not have it in them to get this done.
@protosphinx Just remove corruption and harassment of businesses, improve land acquisitions laws and processes and reduce the cost of energy.

@protosphinx Make India Build Again x.com/siddharthshahx…
@protosphinx When even our Finance Minister can say"it took time to convince the bureaucrats". the reins of the economy or executive are clearly not in the hands of the government. We can spend all day giving suggestions, but boomer License raj era bureaucracy will never implement it.
@protosphinx @centerofright Land on lease is the key here (with all approvals)
But the people of Economic Powers in India loves trading. They are not yet ready to give up their "Zero Risk - full profit" business model. They have built up their cartel. Look at West Bengal - completely devoid of any manufacturing! THEY do not want Bengal to manufacture. Period.
@protosphinx They need to setup special economic zones for manufacturing similar to what China setup in the 80s
@protosphinx Pehle thora ladli behen ke liye paise side krwao
@protosphinx Yes please. We are ready with Private Credit!!!
@protosphinx What does "Zero tax on manufacturing" mean. We have no excise but GST which is on consumption. So 0% GST for items made in India? Thats not tenable. We already have 0% on items which are exported.
@protosphinx And 1. No reservation 2. No kote wale babu interfering 3. Roads wide enough with proper planning.
@protosphinx Most importantly, we need massive capital for all these. Great incentives should be given to attract FDI and let us give a window of three years to get capital with nil bureaucratic headaches and utmost simplicity and transparency.
@protosphinx @PMOIndia @narendramodi please make use of this once in a generation opportunity.
@protosphinx Babus ke bet me lat marvaoge kya
@protosphinx Nothing of the sort will happen. At least not on a national scale. Maybe some small movement in certain states. This country needs leaders unfortunately what we have now are a.bunch of thugs masquerading as dealers calling themselves leaders. It's a fucking joke
@protosphinx I have a better plan. Give voluntary retirement to all bureaucracy.
