Inheco and Tek-Matic now officially support PLR! We have had a great experience integrating and using Inheco devices in the past. We will now work with Inheco (and their distributor Tek-Matic) directly to write nice universal Python APIs for all of their machines.

when doing phase contrast imaging, your microscope has to switch to the phase ring which is expensive (~4s on cytation5) if you are imaging phase + other non phase filters, you can save ~4s every other well by keeping the filter in place between wells (about 3 min per plate)
PyLabRobot is a language for expressing scientific intent.

deleted another 40ms per image capture by not converting/deconverting to list... (autofocus does 10-15 captures, already 10x less than gen5.exe!) so about half a second removed per well w/ AF, which adds up!

in my tests PLR autofocus (on Cytation 1&5) is 35%-40% faster now
The ThermoFisher ProFlex is now supported in PLR thanks to @boqiangtu! This is massive since there is not even OEM software for the proflex, meaning the only way to externally interface with it is through PLR
