Podcast listener realizes she's in a similar situation as the multi-millionaire couple who struggled to spend
@ramit Interesting observation. Can you share more about how you relate to the multi-millionaire couple?
I’m never going to apologize for saving my money. Unfortunately, my healthcare is expensive. There are huge unknown medical costs in the future. That could mean I would be bankrupt within time. I’m glad that I spent some money on travel and activities in the past. But I’m glad that I saved so that I could insure myself with regard to healthcare and retirement. That’s unfortunate for me, but I caution spending in the early years for anyone. Health issues may come up at any age, but usually after 40, the chances of having issues is high. So, when young, get out and travel, but save money for unknowns as well as retirement.
@ramit Let me tell you, having an unprovoked dvt at age 46 sure changes one's perspective of when/how to start spending money before "retirement" (whatever that word means). For some, retirement never comes.
