Ripped the default asset pipeline out of my company's Rails 5.1 app and replaced it with yarn and webpack and I'm delighted with the results so far. I feel all modern and shiny.

Really enjoying @code. Switched from Atom editor and ain't looking back. Very fast, very stable. Great baked-in features and tons of great free extensions. A delight to develop with.

However cool programmable censorship resistant global non-nation-state money is in theory, it doesn't work in practice if sociopaths can easily use bots & wash trades & massive counterfeiting (hi, Tether) to manipulate the price from $100 to $1000 and $1000 to $19,000 and so on.

Lord I love Ruby on Rails. Have been using it full time now for... what... 9.5 months. And it remains delightful. If anything it just keeps getting more fun to work with. And there are still plenty of features I haven't had a chance to explore yet, like Action Cable.

Added an ffmpeg buildpack to an application on Heroku and it took down the entire production server. Managed to everything back online after ten minutes by removing buildpack and redeploying. Web development is occasionally whiteknuckle terrifying.

Half an hour later - 2 confirmations. I thought BCH was supposed to have really fast confirmation times? Wasn't that the whole point of it? Low fees, fast confirmations?

Finally sent my airdropped "bitcoin cash" altcoin nonsense to an exchange wallet. Initiated the send 16 minutes ago. Only one confirmation so far. Seems pretty slow. Fee was low though. 80 cents CDN.

Just started using @heroku preboot on a fairly large Rails application and it's blowing my mind. Zero downtime deployments with basically zero configuration. Took maybe five seconds to turn it on and it just works. Pretty great.
