I have not seen real use cases for using DI that much either. In fact, it is source of slow debugging. Worst is, DI done using annotations.

Looking at some code written with MediatR and trying to track down the control flow of an event driven microservice... Tracking down causality in these systems that fire events asynchronously is a nightmare. Distributed systems need a callstack 😅

Dependencies and coupling can get very nasty with microservices and other forms of distributed systems. Unless teams are sensitive about them, they will find themselves in knots very early in the journey. #Microservices

I've been talking a lot about three architectures: Business, Social, and Technical. Most modernization efforts change Technical Architectures without giving a thought to Business and Social. Capabilities may not change much, but the how does. And Spotify doesn't fix Social.

IMO, if you are writing good code, you never need to know the tricky stuff, and neither do others who read and work on code that you wrote. If you encounter scary code, raise an issue.
