My fiancée and I placed 7th in the 1st round of the @nycmidnight short screenplay challenge. Very pleased with those results for our first time writing a screenplay and first time historical fiction!

Re-reading parts of my first draft that were written back in 2015, and I’m finding myself genuinely surprised by some of the ideas I had forgotten about in the 6 year gap when I wasn’t writing. 2015 Ryan was much more creative.

This was the most we've struggled so far with a story in these contests. The prompts seemed doable, but putting them into a genuinely suspenseful and non-cliché story was a (possibly unsuccessful) battle. #FlashFictionChallenge2022 #nycmidnight
