Update: Further Escalation to #Severe Thunderstorms through eastern NSW. Intense rainfall has been observed along the Blue Mountains due to slow moving storms. Storms moving into western Sydney over the coming hours. Keep up to date with all warnings bom.gov.au/nsw/warnings/

URGENT Reminder: Never drive through floodwater. Floodwater is dangerous and it can take just 15cm of flowing water to float a car. Fortunately, no-one was trapped in this car which was floating down Bairnsdale-Dargo Road near Lindenow. Always stay Informed with @vicemergency!

Yesterday's 16cm hail in Yalboroo, Queensland is a new Australian record. The previous record was 14cm, observed in south-east Qld last year. The atmosphere was extremely unstable, which allowed hail to continue growing before gravity forced it to the ground.
