...D15... Time to think beyond mathematics As discussed in D5, there are so many things which humans can do easily, but AI or Robots can't. But why? Let's go You can play crick or football, but it's super difficult for AI. But on other hand, AI is great at Chess and other similar games. What's the difference here? It's about unpredictability. The mathematics which helped us design prediction based method to build AI is now restricting us. When you play chess, you know the possibilities. You can calculate the outcome. You are writing essay, you've very limited words to play with. You can understand the patterns. But when you throw Football, you've zero patterns. Because how the ball will bounce depends on Physics, Gravity & Flow of air and so many things. It's impossible to say that if you'll drop ball at this speed on this location, it'll exactly go to this location in X seconds with Y angle. Impossible. Because when you're dealing with objects or things - which are dependent on physics, you can't predict the next steps. The ball can go in any direction, you have to be prepared. While almost everything in AI is about mathematics, here prediction is useless. We're definitely trying to feed more & more data to build some kind of prediction machine - but it's really tough. Now there are two patterns. One is maybe we need to make the calculation realtime with unimaginable speed, or we need to move beyond mathematics to find answers. What is the best answer? I don't know. Let's see Best wishes ❤️
