The church hosted a celebration this weekend to mark the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III. Great to bring members of the village together in this beautiful space for such an important occasion!
Something with a royal connection in coronation year. This photo shows the bells at Kings Norton being taken out of the church in 1977 for restoration in time for the Queen’s Silver Jubilee. One of the bells is from the original KN church and dates back to 1627!

Did you know that the gate piers and gates, steps, balustrade and wall of the churchyard at the church of St John the Baptist at Kings Norton are all Grade II* listed?
Some impressive monuments stand in the churchyard, including the graves of the Fortrey and Whalley families – both of whom owned the estate at Kings Norton. These monuments are listed, along with the church. #churchhistory #savekingsnortonchurch

Before watches and smartphones were common, the church clock would have been an invaluable resource to the local community. This mechanism makes the clock work at Kings Norton Church, and still helps to keep everybody in the area in the know as to what time it is.

One interesting element of the church is the water trough outside. The water here drains from the church's roof, and will have quenched the thirst of plenty of thirsty animals over the decades. #savekingsnortonchurch
