Disappointed with the substance in the #vad debate so far. Many unsubstantiated claims and reference to out-dated opinions prior to VAD in Australia. One could be forgiven when watching for not realising that we have 2 years of experience of VAD in VIC.

The Catholic Archbishop of Sydney is now referring to assisted dying legislation for terminally ill people as "state-sanctioned killing". I generally respect the views of others but the lack of empathy, honesty or understanding evidenced by these words is just a bridge too far.

Tasmania's Upper House has just voted in favour of a voluntary assisted dying law. It will come into effect within 18 months, making Tasmania the third Australian state to approve VAD legislation. Come on NSW! #vad #vadnsw #auspol
