The Robert Fagles translation of The Odyssey is the one that Bob Dylan seems to favor. Compare these passages to "Roll on John” from Tempest. Other lines from this translation show up in the same song, as well as in the Tempest tracks "Duquense Whistle" and "Early Roman Kings."
