Every time I go shopping for new computer hardware, I feel so out of the loop. Tech has always moved fast, but it just seems to be exponential anymore. My PC isn't dead...but it's showing it's age and I need more USB slots.

I feel like there is a difference between "I want to be able to set a default for X" vs "I want X to default to a value". Just because something is done one way right now, doesn't mean it will always be done this way, and I may want to change it for whatever reason.
