For the Tories to lose North Shropshire - a pro-Brexit 23,000 majority seat they’ve held since 1832 - is awful. To lose it with a 34% swing and by 6,000 votes is quite extraordinary. It’s only a by-election, but would mean there’s no such thing as a safe Tory seat.

You can’t tell people to “think carefully” before going to pubs and restaurants and then fail to provide any support for the workers/businesses affected. The Government needs to bring forward a support package TODAY for hospitality, events, music and other affected sectors.
