@smlungpathguy I've said it before and I'll say it again. If you take pictures for a publication which includes writing the figure legends and any pathology descriptions, you have contributed "significantly" to that paper and should be a co-author. I require this first.

@smlungpathguy About five years ago, I had a pathologist hold pictures hostage and demand authorship as a condition of their release, even though it was for NEJM “images in clinical medicine” A radiology colleague found that behavior unconscionable and pointed out it violated ICMJE Guidelines
