Last year, some of my colleagues had to spend a few nights in Ghana because Sierra Leone and Nigeria had issues with allowing ECOWAS passport. Ironically, we were travelling to SL for an ECOWAS project.

I kinda disagree. While a large part of GIS has no need for programming skills, a DEGREE holder is expected to have a a taste of everything related to his field. BTW, what GIS would anyone be studying for 4/5 years without any Python/SQL? Just curious.

I think this opinion is flawed. Daily stand-up is a compass and for the whole team especially when you're building an innovative app and figuring things out as they develop. But, hey, what do I know?

I hear it mostly from surveyors. I believe it's the intersection of GIS and surveying. Many surveyors think GIS = Geo(infor)matics so they think GIS is their birthright. Whereas they're only one of many professions that use and contribute to GIS. #gischat
