Running knots because you don't want to relay nonfinancial txs is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT to running knots because people might put "nasty stuff" on the chain. I will defend the former, but I won't even entertain the latter. To do so it to give up on the Bitcoin project altogether.

I am sympathetic to knots because node runners should have to option to not relay nonstandard txs, and I'm unconvinced by Core's arguments that there's any benefit for doing so. However, all this "nasty stuff on the chain" argumentation is really stupid.
