One myth I hope the #DropKiwifarms campaign has put to bed once and for all is the well-meaning but disastrous advice, "Don't feed the trolls." There should never have been a social expectation for victims to suffer in silence while their abusers act with impunity. 1/
Even if they do eventually become bored with one victim, they move on to the next, like a plague of locust, endlessly propagating their suffering-as-sport. Turns out, loud, large, sustained public pressure was the answer all along. Speaking out was the answer all along. 2/2

@stealthygeek I get what you are saying, but I would note many of us who were targets and stayed silent did so because we saw past attempts to get people to care fail, and when they did, those who spoke up were doubled down on as targets, sometimes to the point of suicide.
