Isn't the 50% they already pay a "wealth tax"? the most progressive way forward is ZERO tax on earnings up to £20/ 25k - takes the low paid out of poverty & encourages those on benefits/work borderline to keep all they earn. Just needs some creative thinking, not party ideology

I'm not advocating they leave - all I said was let's not force the Billionaires to leave as they create the wealth and provide the jobs and they MUST pay their taxes - my annoyance is aimed at an MP who generates nothing and slates those that do.

the top 5% of tax payers in UK pay 78% of all the PAYE the Govt receive - so they are not dodging anything. My point is that we have a fair system now that seems to be accepted. I'm arguing against an MP who says "tax the rich" while contributing no money into the system

it's a fact that the Govt collects more tax when top rate is 45% than they does when it's 50% - there is a breaking point. all I am saying is that a FAIR country needs people who provide, nor just those that take. nobody offers to pay more tax, but they accept a fair tax
