I asked the New Zealand government for on-the-record comment at 6:21 pm ET tonight. Got a full response at 6:50 pm ET. What kind of sorcery is this?
@stevenchase Every time I ask the State Department or Forest Service or whatever something and hear back with real answers in a few hours I resent department comms in Canada a little more.
@stevenchase There’s nothing more refreshing than competent public communication.
@stevenchase Aka nothing to hide and real transparency! Like seeing that! 🔥
@stevenchase Not as fast as @viraniarif's reaction to Federal Court Justice Richard Mosley's decision on the Emergencies Act, though.
@stevenchase You mean there are countries who have a functional govt? Wouldn't that be nice to have here in Cda.
@stevenchase You’re not in Canada anymore, Dorothy.
@stevenchase Trudeau couldn't be reached for comments...
@stevenchase It was already tomorrow for them.
@stevenchase But ask Canada and if lucky you may still be alive when they response ..
@stevenchase Kind of like the shire vs Mordor.
@stevenchase They're pretty weird down under. The aristos in the Ottawa castle feel a lot of disdain for the plebs. Open government? Are you nuts.
@stevenchase Wow! If I'm lucky I get a carefully vetted emailed statement a day later.
@stevenchase Even the UK 🇬🇧 parliament gets shit done..
@stevenchase Well, yeah - they're 13 hours ahead, right? They're using that to their advantage!
@stevenchase Well, they didn't have to pass it on to Jean-Marie, who happens to be out for the March Break, to translate.
@stevenchase @TerryGlavin Cdn Parliamentary reporter shocked to get quick response from govt ... ...of New Zealand
@stevenchase The magic of competency! An arcane knowledge sadly lost to the ages in Canuckistan.
