Stuttering is self supporting...Stuttering often continues long after the initial "cause" is gone!
Stuttering is so varied and has so many causes that it cannot be understood simply. It is a common symptom of a variety of "issues"

@mettechnerd forget was the wrong word in general the less conscious I am off my stutter, the more fluent I am. Alcohol seems to do this
@mettechnerd do you ever forget that you stutter? if so are you fluent then? or just not paying attention to it see you are or not?
I rarely stutter I'm front of strangers...only friends. So its a privilege to hear my stutter!:-)
I'm convinced that alcohol increases fluency primarily psychologically....what does a few drinks do for your stutter?:-)
has anyone had great success with self therapy by recording yourself when you are having a fluent day
fluent days are great days! It's amazing what a stutterer's average day entails!
Some people bring out the stutter like no other! It's crazy how much influence the listener has on the speaker!
Do you ever use word replacement to avoid a block and end up sounding like a word nerd? People think you do it to sound smart
