I have seen stray dogs mauling young kids, I have seen senior citizens not able to get out of their homes due to fear, I have seen regular middle class neighborhoods becoming hunting grounds for packs of dogs, I have seen so called animal lovers feed them left overs from their parties and then claim to be doing some great philanthropy. The court order may not be implementable, there might be not enough shelters but all this means authorities have to do something about it. No stray dogs on streets !!! Period. They belong to animal shelters or should be adopted. Not on our streets please. 99 percent of our people don’t have the luxury of living in expensive high rises, where your car is waiting for you as soon as you get out of the elevator. Most of us live in old middle class neighborhoods and we do not want dogs in our streets.
I asked my 85 yrs old otherwise fit father to stop going for walks around the neighbourhood because he recently barely escaped a pack of feral dogs. He could have been bitten or fallen trying to avoid them. This is in a supposedly good locality in Jammu city. People come and throw food for the dogs in the night in our street because it’s some grah dasha requirement. They litter and walking around the neighbourhood is scary ( impossible at night) because of the packs of dogs terrorising pedestrians and two-wheelers. What is the most humane solution I really don’t know but problem this def is.
@sunandavashisht So have I . I have been attacked by a group of 20 dogs at midnight Luckily my car windows were rolled up. So fierce were they they jumped on windshield hood and side windows .
@sunandavashisht this noise is not about the SC verdict. This verdict has come in a BJP ruled states - so put as many hurdles as possible
@sunandavashisht Simply speaking, common men appreciate the decision of the court while the elites who never walked on the streets barks about stray dogs...😏
@sunandavashisht My mausi lost her young son to rabies when he was barely 14 years old. He was her only son after having three daughters. He would have been in his early 40s if he were alive today. Her life was forever destroyed, and she cries tears of blood daily remembering him.
@sunandavashisht Agree! just last week my father (55) went out to fetch milk..and on his way a dog bit him… Also he is one of those guys who goes out and pats and sometimes give milk to dogs of our street…so one can’t even say that he must have treated that dog (of other street) badly.
@sunandavashisht How many of you condemn this? 😂😂🤣
@sunandavashisht @TheRupali @Varun_dvn @iTIGERSHROFF Or any other celeb who thinks they can comment on any topic and start a campaign…pls read this and you will understand our point of view as well!! Cz you won’t be able to understand it while being in your house.
@sunandavashisht U have not seen men raping #streetdogs ? You have not seen dogs brutally murdered ? You have not seen dogs been ram over intentionally & during day light? If dogs can get raped will men spare woman?
@sunandavashisht Animals in dense urban settings have to be highly regulated - absolutely no strays.Have to treat them as a public health hazard like vector control - Pets should be allowed only with a permit that should require vaccination proof & liability insurance to cover costs if they hurt
@sunandavashisht On odd days, these socialites talk about how we should be compassionate towards stray dogs and on even days, they ask when our cities are going to be like Singapore and London. Do you see stray dogs there? Demand enough shelters for dogs but don’t show compassion at our cost!
@sunandavashisht Well said. It is becoming difficult to walk to even the shop nearby, forget going on walks!
@sunandavashisht MCD failed to save waterlogging and garbage issue and you believe with magic wand they will comply on this ruling. Solution is strict implementation of ABC under Supreme Court if need be. Totally in support for safety of kids and elderly but against animal cruelty.
@sunandavashisht Surprising you were seeing all this and never used your clout on x to amplify that and hold the municipality responsible. But shortcut mila to supporting tweet aagya. Imagine this were to happen to any cause that you believe in. No fair trial and sent to death.
@sunandavashisht I have seen fully grown adults torture and kill stray dogs , I have seen drunk yard humans drink drive and kill lives and I have seen them escape punishment . We don’t even punish the accused and here we want to kill all dogs cause of few.
@sunandavashisht Totally agree. ppl shd work on a plan whose objective is no strays on the streets. ppl who truly care abt strays shd take them home & give them a safe space where strays dont depend on the benevolence of ppl to feed them or are exposed to risks associated with being on the street
@sunandavashisht I have seen kids throwing stones, tying crackers to puppies, adults swinging dogs by their tails off roofs & have seen so many dogs saving lives by fighting off thieves, savings girls from molestors, saving infants from predators. And these are in multiples of what you quote.
@sunandavashisht they bite because they've been tortured beaten to de@th by humans x.com/PetsinBangalor…
@sunandavashisht @PoisonOfChoice My 72 yr old brother went out for a post-dinner smoke -cum- stroll. Was attacked by a pack of strays. Tried to avoid, fell , fractured his arm. I DEFINITELY don't like strays
In our apartment, there are strays in the night sitting and barking the whole night and some dogjeevis come at 11 pm in their cars to feed the dogs with rice and roti. We also have a dog friendly cafe inside apartment complex, but never saw the same dogjeevis to invite strays inside the cafe. Why?
@sunandavashisht Mandatory capture, neuter, shelter or adoption of all stray dogs. Strict ban on street feeding outside designated zones. Government-funded expansion of animal shelters with NGO, voluntarily partnerships. Problem will be solved in a short time and everyone plays a role.
@sunandavashisht Completely agree. Feeding strays scraps and calling it philanthropy without taking full responsibility only worsens the problem. If someone wants to care for them, adoption or sponsoring their shelter care is the responsible way forward.
@sunandavashisht All stray dogs in India should be put to sleep. Pet dogs can remain, Stray cattle should be removed and put to pasture
@sunandavashisht You live in a pussy ass neighbourhood NgL 😂😂
@sunandavashisht Exactly. Why is this so difficult for people to understand.
@sunandavashisht Not only houses..they are everywhere in office parks..5 star hotels, subways, public parks, schools, fast food places, hill stations, sightseeing spots, taj mahal Every multimillion dollar infra is infested with them.
@sunandavashisht Or on the dinner plates of our Chynese frands...😋😝
If you’d seen so much, did you ever try to know about what should be done? Did you try to contact the municipal authorities to get the dogs picked up for neutering and vaccination? I am sure the dogs must be starving and hence the aggression! Starve for a few days and maybe you might feel aggressive too! Dogs and all street animals have to constantly fight for basic survival . We have taken away from them the land which once theirs too! Now we want them completely eliminated! How is that remotely possible! This is the result of Systematic failure of all authorities. Why would the animals suffer coz of that! What an ignorant living beings are we! Also, madam, try and update your knowledge a bit. Read about how countries like the Netherlands, our neighbour Bhutan won in the anti rabies fight. FYI- The Dutch achieved it through the CNVR programme (Collect, Neuter, Vaccinate, and Return), a nationwide, government-funded sterilisation programme. Implemented a no-kill policy - Shelters across the Netherlands have a no-kill policy, so eradicating stray dogs didn't come at the cost of their lives. To tackle the problem of strays, India can take lessons from the Netherlands, which has reportedly been completely free of stray dogs and rabies for years-- that too without killing a single canine. Bhutan has declared itself the first country in the world to have completely sterilised and vaccinated its entire stray dog population, following a 14-year dog population control programme.
@sunandavashisht It’s not what it seems! It’s a darn nexus!
