if it makes you uncomfortable, shut it down. let them call you difficult. people will test your silence, mistake your kindness, stretch your patience. boundaries aren’t rude, they’re survival. the moment you hesitate to protect yourself, you teach them it’s okay to hurt you.

people know when they’ve hurt you. they feel the guilt creeping inbut instead of owning it, they rewrite the story. “you overreacted.” “they had no choice.” “you would’ve done the same.” guilt bends truth. and most would rather distort reality than carry the weight of being wrong
