I think i can see what happens here, she probably cut and pastes text to her working article and then reduces it to her final work. The variation being in how good a job she does of the second phase.

To be fair it does seem unlikely journalists knew, the operation surprised israel so clearly they didnt tell random journalists. But also, the guy getting a kiss from the hamas leader clearly has his confidence. And so does the op here.
