It's easy to lie. It's easy to manipulate people. It's easy to put on a facade to get what you want. Books like "The 48 Laws of Power," are for normies. They're glittering promises of getting something for nothing. It's alluring, the thought of taking greedy gulps of other people's time and resources with a little magician's trick, a wink and a smile and a password. But it's a lie. You never get something for nothing. Every time you lie to get what you want, you separate your true self from the source of desire. The selfish, manipulative part of you is eager to take the lead, and push your integrity back inside, to hide it away, to fracture it with every distorted leap of truth. Yes, you can lie and scheme to get what you want. But when you've finally gotten your reward, *you* will no longer exist, and the demon you've created of yourself will not have the capacity to enjoy anything that it's reaped with its dishonesty.
@teachrobotslove @teachrobotslove Exactly. Deception might win short-term gains, but it bankrupts the self in the long run. Integrity isn’t just moral, it’s survival of the soul.
@teachrobotslove 48 laws of power is to help "you" spot liars, cheaters and schemers no?
@teachrobotslove Hey guys.. read the part in the 48 laws of power talking abt people who make it known that they're innocent. It's in the preface. They're the least innocent and some of the most adept players of the game
@teachrobotslove Grok: Greene himself has described the book as a reflection of "the reality of human nature," drawing from historical examples to illustrate how people pursue, maintain, or lose power. Me: Greene didn't ever want to rise in an organization, he wanted out from any of them.
@teachrobotslove Again. Sauron, a powerless slave to the one ring. Lies confuse, Truth compounds.
@teachrobotslove I have no wish to defend the moral philosophy or human outlook of the book, but your depiction of it still seems unfair. The book to me is a more modernized take on Machiavelli's The Prince. The core premise is that polite society is a facade—either win at human nature or suffer.
@teachrobotslove I don't know, man. I did it the other way and just got trod on continuously by the "48 laws of power" types, who were never as good as me but played the game. You look young on your photo. I would've said the same as you when I was younger and didn't have the same life experience
@teachrobotslove This hits for many reasons that I won’t specify
@teachrobotslove With all due respect, Your husband is smart - but you are Stupid. 🙂👍
@teachrobotslove Maybe it’s okay to be a normie. Maybe most people could do life on a much, much easier mode and crush it. Maybe a few silver bullets really exist. Maybe some of us need a way-too-large menu of options to find the easy way, and maybe a lie told is an integrity maintained.
