Over 1 million people have joined Mastodon since October 27. Between that and those who returned to their old accounts, the number of active users has risen to over 1.6 million today, which, for context, is over 3 times what it was just about two weeks ago!

…and if you're thinking "we only hear from @textpattern when something breaks", there's perhaps some truth in that. We're working on support for the upcoming PHP 8.2, and the upcoming Textpattern 4.9 will have some really cool stuff. When that's nearly ready, we'll tell you. 💛

Nginx 1.23.0 is compiled from source and active. Our sites are back online (for now), and if they survive past 07:00 UTC tomorrow, then we are a little closer to finding the issue. At the moment, Nginx 1.23.1 appears to segfault (panic, if you prefer) at about 07:00 and it chews up all the CPU, which knocks some of our sites offline. This didn't happen with Nginx 1.23.0, so we're rolling back right now. [4/?]
