Third time's the charm. Changes: - I went really thin on the solder mask. That ended up working really well (although there is still some weirdness around the pads/through holes). I couldn't resist using a transparency, and I'm glad I did. - I reduced the paste pad size by 15%.…
Reporting a lack of progress: - Solder mask wasn't fully cured (probably too thick) and flaked off when I pried it off the double-sided tape. - Still no joy lasering the silkscreen. I think I'm going to start messing with the F1 Ultra again and see how it does for "finishing"…

Second time came out much better. Thanks to @AnasYMalas for the tip on preheating the board. I stuck it on the hotplate and let it get to 70C, then added the paste. Much easier. I probably still used a little too much paste on the IC. Had to break a bridge with the tweezers.…
