“To be prepared for a poss outbreak of #BirdFlu, govts… need to take these steps now, even in the face of uncertainty. If they wait for a confirmed outbreak among ppl, it will be extremely difficult to prevent the uncontrolled spread.” #MedTwitter #H5N1 cnn.com/2024/04/17/opi…
@tmprowell Just because the FDA says qPCR findings do not represent the actual #H5N1 virus (only virus particles) and commercial MILK supply is safe will not alleviate people’s doubts about milk safety. We need a larger sample of milk tests and the results to be available soon.
@tmprowell “…growing evidence of potential mammal-to-mammal spread wks after bird flu detected in cows. Many in biosecurity/pandemic preparedness believe leaders in capitals around the globe should be working to get👉AHEAD of this new PH threat [if] H5N1 evolves to H-H infection.
@tmprowell @brownecfm My thought is that with Covid, they did not use infection control or the preventive principle and they are very likely to do exactly the same thing again.
@tmprowell @morgfair If H5N1 H2H transmission kicks off with a CFR of 56% - and the worldwide effects of COVID immune dysregulation - it could make the SARS2 pandemic look like a picnic We have learnt NOTHING in terms of preparedness
