Visited Titagarh Firema manufacturing facility being setup for producing the first aluminium bodied metro coaches in India in its Kolkata Plant. It is coming up as a state-of-the-art facility, with modern practices fit for industry 4.0.

First train set from Titagarh’s Italian Plant will get dispatched in May 2021 & from Kolkata Plant by 15th Aug, 2021. Thanks Titagarh for adhering to delivery schedule despite challenges of Covid-19 in both places where its Plants are located.

Privileged to unveil model of coach for Pune Metro at Titagarh Firema HQ in Kolkata today. This is the first lightweight aluminium bodied coach which is fuel efficient & has additional safety & convenience features. Its design was finalised few months back & now model is ready.

In last 3 years our 4 Indian Companies- Alstom (India), Bombardier (India), BEML & Titagarh have bagged orders for over 1,000 metro coaches under global bidding. Our companies have supplied/ are supplying coaches to Australia, African/ Asian countries.

This will enable lower infra cost & higher energy efficiency. These coaches are being manufactured & first 3 will be delivered by June 2021. Commencing operation of Metro will provide Ease of Living to citizens. This is a huge step towards @makeinindia & #SelfReliant India.

Another huge leap towards #AtmaNirbharBharat! Titagarh Firema, a firm based in Kolkata, is the first Indian company, which will manufacture aluminium bodied metro coaches for Pune Metro. These coaches are the lightest in India so far with 15.5 tonnes axle load.

In yet another leap for @makeinindia initiative, Titagarh Firema, an Indian multinational based close to Kolkata has won an international bid from Pune Metro for supply of 102 Aluminium bodied Metro Rail coaches which will be manufactured for the first time in India.
