Man, it sucks watching a finals game like that knowing your team isn’t going to be featuring in any.. Season 2026 is a huge year for the Dogs. Gotta win a final. We’ve only won a final in two seasons since 2010. We simply can’t accept that as a fan base.

Lachie Smith is someone I’m expecting to play senior footy next season. Especially if the AFL goes to 5 on the bench and no sub. Tim English had a solid season, but was again monstered in an important game. Smith has that aggressive mindset that English lacks at times.

Biggest positive for the year? Mine is Joel Freijah. Form slump at the end of the season, but he’s proven himself to be a big game player. Best game was obviously the swans game but his game on the weekend was huge. He was one of our best in the elim final loss last season too

If we can get a “2024 Liam Jones” type season out of May in 2026, it’s worth it in my opinion. Won’t break the bank and gives our young key defenders another 12 months to develop. He is a 2 x all Australian, premiership winning defender after all.
