@unusual_whales Ban Boeing too while you’re at it. They’re clearly not respecting regulations. Lives will be endangered if not.
@unusual_whales Our aviation has never been more dangerous as it is under @PeteButtigieg
The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a nationwide ground stop advisory for Alaska Airlines on April 17, 2024, due to a system issue that the airline experienced during an upgrade to the system that calculates weight and balance. The advisory affected all Alaska mainline and subcarrier flights, but flights for SkyWest, which provides regional service for Alaska Airlines and others, were excluded from the ground stop. The ground stop was in effect for approximately an hour, from 7:30am PT to 8:30am PT. Alaska Airlines requested the FAA to pause the airline's mainline departures nationwide as a precaution, and the issue was mitigated during the ground stop. The airline advised passengers to check the status of their flights on alaskaair.com or the Alaska App prior to heading to the airport. Although the ground stop has been lifted, the situation caused some delays throughout the system, with 136 flight delays and one cancelation reported at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport as of 9:25 a.m. PT. Alaska Airlines and the FAA are working to minimize the impact on passengers and resume normal operations.
