@ryanjfleury I would argue that it's worse than that. A lack of craftsmanship spirit would be bad on its own, but what we have in the software industry is anti-craftsmanship culture. People exhibiting a spirit of craftsmanship are actively ridiculed!

Trying to envision a future that's better than capitalism (or its current form) doesn't make one a communist. If we believe that the current system is better than, say, feudalism, then it's not inconceivable that we can do better still.

Some define superintelligence to be qualitatively superior to humans (and by extension AGI). And it will come about through a runaway self-improvement by the AGI. But how can a *qualitatively* weaker intelligence possibly conceive of a stronger one?
