There was a lot of sound advice saying that we could address just one BC with the DDD model (core domain) and everything else could support it without requiring DDD modeling, but it was always in mind considering the whole business domain.

Today I picked up a codebase that I haven't touched in a long time. Having decent unit tests in place lets me re-orientate myself and ensure I don't break stuff that I no longer remember. Sometimes code coverage isn't just a number.

The reason the dependency injection discussions go on forever is because passing state around is so fundamental to how we compose software. Object oriented languages push you into using classes and functional languages use function arguments (and closures).

Anyone upgrading to #dotnet 5 might want to run the following command-line script. “dotnet dev-certs https --clean && dotnet dev-certs https --trust” This will reinstall the latest cert so @aspnet will work properly.

Agreed! In complex code, my first refactoring steps are not about perfection or even improving the code as such. Instead it's about safely getting the code to a state where real improvements can be done.

refactoring protip: if the change you're trying to make is too big, do something else that can make that change smaller. apply in a loop/recursively until it's no longer too big.
