Ten years ago I stopped posting to this account because I was ready to move beyond Twitter. I think we've built something unique over at Micro.blog. An open platform based on blogs, community principles, that peers with Mastodon too. Made by people who love the web.

I think it’s time for this again.
In light of everything happening at Twitter, a lot of people are wondering "where to go next". May I suggest, and I am speaking to myself here too, that you invest in your own blog on your own domain? Own your own content, and share your thoughts independently of dingaling CEOs.

This is pretty cool. If you want to open a Zavala outline from your Lock Screen you can do the same, but easier. Just click on a Collection that contains your outline and long press it in the list. Select “Copy Document Link” and use that with Widgetsmith.

Yep. I can’t imagine *not* using RSS. My recommendations: 1. Unread for best overall reading experience and reading-centered UI design 2. NetNewsWire for covering all the basics with familiar, system-centered design
More people should use RSS. Most would be far happier consuming news. But the tech has *just* too much friction. Still, if you’re on Apple platforms, I strongly recommend checking out NetNewsWire (which can also follow Twitter accounts).

Remember when it used to be the worst thing you could do accidentally to a user was loose or corrupt their data. Soon it will be get them thrown into jail and have a permanent criminal record.

It would be great if Apple would some day create an open issue database. Leave the Radar/FB internal to Apple, and create a new thing, just for the users and developers. Modern, fast, with voting system and easy search for issues already submitted. Apple would only benefit!
