Our institutions should reflect Canada’s diversity. The keffiyah is an important cultural symbol that should be welcomed in all Canadian institutions. An expression of pride in one’s heritage should be celebrated, not stifled.
@viraniarif The keffiyah isn't part of Canadian culture or heritage. It's political virtue signaling, though I use that term loosely. Anyone showing support terrorism is devoid of any virtues.
Like this? You call this cultural? He's waving around the Hamas logo - that is terrorism, intimidation and if I'm not mistaken against some law.... Sad these nasty muslims have made the 'cultural' symbol of the keffiyeh a symbol of terrorist hate. Muslims should speak up if the keffiyeh is such a symbol of their peaceful culture - yet we hear nothing from them. So why are you speaking up if they can't be bothered?
@viraniarif Minister of Real Life Harm thinks this symbol of hate should be celebrated and intimidation is welcome in Canadian institutions. This is not Canadian heritage.
@viraniarif Why don't you get busy appointing more judges, Arif? You're a disgrace. Violent criminals and pedophiles walk free due to lack of judges and this is what you concern yourself with? 🖕
@viraniarif Is this cultural symbol OK as well?
@viraniarif How about those people who just started wearing them after October 7th?
@viraniarif Actually our institutions should respect our cultural foundations and social norms. By bending to the diversity of the day you're weaking what it means to be Canadian.
@viraniarif Sure if you are Palestinian by all means wear it. If you are not it’s just cultural appropriation. Or is @viraniarif here officially endorsing any and all cultural appropriation???
