Calling all artists. This is making the rounds. There is hope for us yet!
Is this a real story? Removing people from that image would be one promptless roll of generative fill in Photoshop. You’re telling me a studio hired and on-boarded image prompters without the ability to use the easiest part of photoshop? Then fired them immediately? I’m not calling you a liar, but either this is exaggerated or the studio is extremely incompetent.
Sharing this has been the best way to meet all my fellow artist friends. We’re all in this together!
@vproceart It makes sense, but sadly people will need to have enough savings to last 2 years of unemployment before the companies realize their mistake.
@vproceart @KarlTrewhelaArt The art director is already an AI prompter. He just uses humans (for now).
@vproceart This was predictable and will keep happening, but the people in charge will be slow to integrate it. In about 1-2 years there will be surging demand for experienced artists again. Keep sharpening your skills.
@vproceart Imagine how professional printing file prep would go: “Nice! We need this made print-ready for an Indigo press. Make the file 12x18 w/full bleed. Convert RGB to CMYK w/100% K (no built black!!), make sure our logo matches the brand PMS and embed whatever that font is.” “ … “
@vproceart It’s not surprising to me but nice to see, often concept art requires revisions that are very specific and AI struggles with that. Paired with promoters who has no art training (art skill level at stick figures) it’s a disaster for sure. Surprised companies can’t foresee this
