In the last 24 hours we've seen between a trace and about an inch of rain. The highest rainfall totals are to the west of and through the Champlain Valley. And the majority of tomorrow's rainfall looks like it will mostly be to the south and east of the Champlain Valley.

Our weekly drought monitor update is now showing SEVERE DROUGHT🌵 34% of Vermont, all of northern New Hampshire, and part of Essex County, NY are now in a severe drought. While we do have some beneficial rain on the way, it will NOT be enough to get us out of the drought.

As the first round of wet weather rolls in later today, there's a chance for some gusty thunderstorms. The areas of northern New York that are shaded in dark green have a marginal risk for a few strong or severe storms later today. Rain will likely start moving in around 3-4pm.

There's a chance for a few isolated showers today and tomorrow, mostly in and around the mountains. But the better chance for rain comes with two cold fronts that will be entering our region late Thursday. Most of us will see between 0.5" to 1" of rain by early Sunday morning.
