Last night was a rough. Some things went wrong at church that were out of my control, but my toxic trait is embody and take responsibility in unhealthy ways. Harper could tell I was stressed and kept trying to help. Finally, she walked in, hugged me, and handed me this note.

I enjoyed chatting @HeatherTDay on her @CTPodcasts #ViralJesus. Heather started as a Twitter acquaintance and turned into a real life friend. I have learned SO much from her. I really do believe that God can use and is using social media to announce and enact His Kingdom!

I find that my weakest leadership moments are when I am reactionary. Reactionary moments tend to be when I hurt people the most and are the least effective statements and decisions I could have conjured up.

2 years ago Easter was especially meaningful. It was a bit of. “resurrection” for the Duvall family. Chera had just finished her last bit of radiation and it was if we had experience new life! Easter has always been my favorite, but that year it meant something more.

I wonder how many times we think we are hearing the voice of God, when in reality we are just hearing echoes of our own voice either affirming our every choice or decrying our every flaw? One a god of hedonism and the other of legalism.

I believe our great country was built on two institutions, the church (God) and the family. But now because of Covid when a family member is ill no one can be with them, it creates guilt, frustration, and loneliness, and the church being separated has created great distress.

Harper (5) last night: I don't want to grow up Me: I agree. But why? Her with tears: Because when you grow up you have to get married and I don't want to because what if my husband isn't nice? And I thought of every picture of a smiling wife standing next to a jerk. And I cried.

I’m weary of “shepherds” beating up sheep, pretending they are fighting wolves. This tilting at windmills for the applause of their own base is sad and destructive.
