Imagine if the image was of three white children aged 6/7/8 zip tied like animals, humiliated & terrified, for swimming in a pool. There would be no one in my mentions going “but have you been to”…”I would have done the same” “it’s their parents fault” ..”don’t break the law”

Shame on those asking me “have you ever been to remote Australia?” in response to me condemning Aboriginal children as young as 6 being tied up with cable ties like cattle. Your coded language only highlights your racism. And yes I go every year since 2014 in my volunteer work.

That a man felt comfortable tying up 3 Aboriginal children aged 6,7 & 8 for swimming in a pool shows the level of racism still pervasive in our community that enabled these children to be treated like animals. Aboriginal children are forever denied the chance to just be kids too.

the australians i grew up around talked a big game around how aussies are larrakins who pull pranks and stunts for fun, but some Indigenous kids jump into a pool and suddenly everyone's strapped on SS uniforms and calling for hog tying kids for being kids.

This type of study is done endlessly in all parts of the world. Every time we learn the poor people don’t waste money. And then we just move on and do nothing with that information.

We asked for a $39/day increase to bring JobSeeker up to the Henderson Poverty Line. While people are starving. While people are taking their lives. We were asking for the bare minimum that people need. Painting this as unreasonable is morally bankrupt & you should be ashamed
