لاكان قلب دولوز إلى لاتوس في تحوير ساخر يوحي بالكحة باعتبارها صوتاً جسدياً بلا معنى خارج اللغة ليشير إلى أن حديثه عن الرغبة كإنتاج متدفق بلا نقص يشبه نوبة سعال متواصلة، ضجيج منتفخ لا يحمل دلالة، في حين أن الرغبة قائمة على فجوة بنيوية يستحيل ردمها.
