In this conversation of accessibility, I have learned to tell people that accessibility isn’t anti-creativity. It’s literally design that works for everyone. If that blocks your creativity, then you were never creative in the first place.
You can use AI web accessibility tools to speed up audits. But don't just leave it to understand human context. They are tools, not overlords. Work with them.
Checkers are great. I've used tools that tel you if your alt text makes sense. But if you care enough, you shuld build your systems with both Ai and human testing.
AI says it can "auto fix accessibility." I say slow down cowboy. Yeah tools like Equally Ai use ai to correct many accessibility problems, but Accessibility goes beyond the simple errors that Ai can understand. It needs human testing.
We added alt text to images on a client site and it boosted their SEO. It's crazy how many people don't know that. Most accessibility practices have other benefits apart from being inclusive and saving you from a lawsuit.
Every time I run equally ai and it saves me hours of debugging, I don't know who to thank, the developers, or the ADA that caused tools like that to exist.
