I hope that someone with expertise from @GHFUpdates or IDF will respond. But my initial thoughts: 1. The starting point to mention is that it is a war caused by Hamas which continues to be embedded among civilians and no country provides supplies to enemy militants or allows it to be diverted to enemy militants. The preexisting aid distribution system allowed for just that and so to even refer to it by way of comparison, is disingenuous. 2. To the extent aid is sometimes provided to civilians in wartime environments, it is in areas that are not still active combat zones or where threats are manageable. And inevitably, in just about every example I can think of, aid efforts have been limited and usually criticised or politicised. 3. There seems a lot of assumptions in here about who is doing what and why, in particular as to local gangs allegedly operating with Israel. There is little supporting evidence provided as to why you have dismissed Hamas cause or involvement. Hamas has the most incentive to make this fail. It is absurd to think that the US and Israel would set up the GHF in order kill people!! 4. The GHF effort here may be imperfect, but the comparison is not to the aid distribution effort that existed and supplied Hamas previously. I suggest that you compare efforts here to efforts in an active war zone in which militants are embedded within populations sought to be provided with aid (and in which neighbouring countries provide innocent citizens with refuge). To criticise Israel while Hamas still holds its hostages, while the war is ongoing and while neighbouring Egypt is still blocking refugees from entering, seems to me to judge Israel by a standard no other country has ever been judged. Last I heard, the GHF had provided over 70 million meals to the people of Gaza. What I think you are suggesting is that Israel should provide more aid to civilians, even if that means sustaining enemy militants and terrorists. The situation is horrible, but the solution is not to keep Hamas well fed and incentivise it to keep going for longer! Surely for those who care about innocent lives, the solution has been obvious since the start of this war. That is, to allow innocent civilians to seek refuge in neighbouring countries until Israel has eliminated the enemy or it has surrendered. I suggest you model how many lives may be saved by doing that.
