Case of animal cruelty comes to light in Masinagudi, Nilgiris. People in a private resort apparently threw a lit, burnt cloth on a 40-year-old elephant following which the animal died. Postmortem report shows burn injuries on its ears; 2 individuals detained.

Scientists @UniofExeter have been testing the self control of the small guppy fish. They used behavioural training to assess the fishes inhibitory control and found "consistent individual variation" - some guppies had more self-control than others. eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2…

We were lucky enough to see this elaborate device at @TheCrick during a visit in 2019. The AutonoMouse tracks the behaviour of it's inhabitants, and can even tell you how often the mice have visited their water bottle. Check out the video for more! buff.ly/3o6dmK7

In 2017, while exploring just outside @hawaiireef at 835 m depth, we made this unusual observation of a 6-gilled stingray, Hexatrygon bickelli. Although found across Pacific Ocean, little is known about the species. This could be 1st live sighting of this animal!! #alwayslearning

Sometimes, before farm animals are slaughtered, the animals are beaten and electrocuted by workers who are frustrated by the animals that refuse to walk to their death

Pig/swine slaughterhouses so-called "ethical" and "humane" slaughtering of pigs include lowering pigs into gas chambers sometimes being trampled by the other pigs while there insides are burned inside out from CO2 gas

The treatment that farm animals receive at slaughterhouses across the globe is grotesque and severely inhumane. I have watched video after video for hours petrified and sickened by the conditions and treatment of these animals.
