Dear @CanHCZA how does ur gov explain this decision? If concern is the alleged buying/selling of test results, no country (incl yours) is immune from that. Ask EU countries or google the stories. U trust us/scientists when we detect new variants but doubt our testing capacity?

Govt official from non-western country that has imposed travel ban on Southern African countries tells me it’s because they are concerned western countries will red list them if they don’t show they are taking action-thus affecting tourism etc: “they hold the cards & know it”
