For myself, I’m mostly wondering at the lack of a windfall tax on #fossilfuel companies in a year of massive profits + huge public expenditures to combat #climatechange-amplified #wildfires. That said, I appreciate this expression of solidarity with hard-working family docs ☺️🙏

In 2017, @CMA_Docs spent a lot of advocacy capital talking about the risk to physician practices with elimination of income splitting. It is now very clear that practicing as a family physician is not sustainable. Other reasons include, - historically low pay of family…
Suggested tweak, give an exclusion to family physicians for the capital gains tax. Maybe also include other folks that provide a majority of their clinical practice in primary care like nurse practitioners, among others. Incentivize the care Canadians need.

Lots of talk that primary care is important, but very inconsistent pan-Canadian action at the PT level. The issue of pay and paperwork are issues brought up over and over again throughout the last 10 years. Change is an action word. Very concerned about this trend.
