I thought I was seeing a GP. On arrival the lady looked like the ANP I saw before, so I asked, “are you the ANP?” and she said “no I am the clinical practitioner”. So I said, “so not a GP?” and she said “I do the GP’s role”. Anyway, she argued my medical history… 1/3
2/3 so I had to show her evidence on my phone, she said colchicine is not used for hearts (yes it is), she wouldn’t give me the steroids my rheumatologist requested and didn’t give me a diagnosis other than ‘it can’t be gout as you are on prophylaxis (colchicine)’….
@AmandaB55744931 Do you know what their role was? Have you managed to get your prescription that the rheumatologist suggested ?
@AmandaB55744931 I recently encountered a medical receptionist who told me a nursing student who is just starting her second year was an RN. I’m an Intensive Care Registered Nurse and I was not impressed.
@AmandaB55744931 I would ring the rheumatologist secretary to ask for him to write a prescription whilst telling them of the difficulties you’ve encountered
@AmandaB55744931 I had phone call from woman who said she was from my GP surgery. I asked if she was a physio, she said "I can do all the things a physio can do"- so that's a no then. She wanted to overrule tests, decisions made by hospital consultants, professors & radiologists
