I turned in my final two weeks for the service industry. I recently got a job within my office that pays $32 an hour!
I would like to remind everyone that my account is called "The Angry Server" and it's just that. My annoyances in the restaurant industry, blown out of proportion in excessive angry thought.
I'm not happy...I'm not making enough money, I have $32 to my name, both of my jobs are terrible...103 applications in and nothing.
Can y'all please stop fucking paying with $100 bills?

Do y'all understand how rude it is to call in somewhere for takeout and ask the person to list all of the sides, sauces, what comes on everything, what menu items they have, etc? Look at the menu online and have your shit prepared before you call.
I miss being able to work a double, go out until 3am, and work brunch the following day. I am WEAK
The fact that many companies require cover letters for applications is a dumb waste of time. Like you want your applicant to send a template letter describing generically how they want to work for you that they also sent to 100 other companies?
The one thing I can never forgive when going to a restaurant/bar as a customer is seeing my server/bartender scoop ice using the glass or cup. It's a no from me. Every time.
People be like "Sex work isn't real work. I would never sell my body" then proceed to sell their body, mind, and time for 40 hours a week, are satisfied with 3% annual raises, and are a verbal punching bag for customers.
Corporate chains really have you be doing shit for no good reason Side work checklists, calling people guests instead of customers, etc. I'm super casual with all the people I serve and it is way more rewarding.
If you ever feel dumb just remember that people out there go to bartending school to get a license they don't need in their state 😂
A restaurant does not have to have a hostile work environment stop being assholes to your coworkers.
Listen y'all. I'm feeling for you this tax season. People spend all of their money but don't think to tip on that. In short staffed stores.
What is the point of us putting #democrats in office if we can't get the things they promise us? Universal healthcare, student loan forgiveness, affordable LIVING. We are DROWNING here.
It sickens me how many restaurants insist on staying open despite terrible road conditions. I've seen the cars of restaurant workers. It ain't it.
